Naja, eher ein Fluch für die Eltern oder? Aber dank des tollen Schnittmusters Machmalhalblang war die Piratenhose in nullkommanix genäht. Einfach den Jersey längsgestreift nähen. Es war allerdings schon ein bißchen komisch, die Hose nicht zu säumen sondern am Ende Zacken reinzuschneiden. Auf ein altes T-Shirt von mir kam ein selbstgezeichneter Totenkopf mit Sternenaugen. Die hatte mein Sohn auch nachdem er das Outfit gesehen hatte und dafür lohnt sich der Fluch mit dem Fasching allemal 🙂
Pirate of the Carnivalean. In Germany it’s a custom to celebrate carneval or fasching as it’s called here, everyone get’s dressed up and goes out for a party. It’s actually not really my cup of tea but the kids love it. Thanks to the very simple pattern Machmalhalblang I had the pirate shorts whipped up in no time. It was a bit strange to sew the stripes vertically and then cut zigzags instead of seaming them at the end. I cut up an old black t-shirt of mine and appliqued a big starry-eyes skull I had sketched for the occasion. And on „Fasching“ I had one proud little starry-eyed boy when he saw the outfit, so it was definitely a all worth the while!
