Oje….schon wieder habe ich mich so lange hier nicht wirklich blicken lassen….ruhig war es bei mir aber trotzdem nicht….über manche Sachen konnte ich noch nicht sprechen…andere waren noch nicht fertig und bei dem Rest kam irgendwie das Leben dazwischen….
Gosh…it’s been quiet around here lately….but not in my studio that’s for sure….some things I just couldn’t talk about…other things weren’t finished yet…and the rest…well, life got in the way…..
Da ich mich und euch aber nicht länger auf die Folter spannen will, zeige ich endlich was so los war.
To relieve you (and me) of the agony of suspense…ähem….read on to see what I’ve been up to.

Da ich in der Vergangenheit immer wieder angesprochen wurde ob ich nicht auch etwas für Jungs machen könnte – und ich selber einen kleinen Mann zu Hause habe – war es natürlich allerhöchste Zeit auch mal die Herren der Schöpfung zu benähen…..
Lots of people have asked me in the past if I do stuff for boys, and because I have one of my own now, I thought it might be high-time to grace those boys with some unique styles.
Motive für Jungs finde ich immer sehr schwierig. Sie dürfen meiner Meinung nach nicht zu süßlich, aber auch nicht zu gräßlich sein….sie sollten eher klare Formen als Geschnörksel haben…und sie sollten witzig und frech sein….wie die Jungs eben selber…..
I always found that designs for boys are a bit tricky. In my opinion they need to be not too wicked and not too sweet…they should be clear-cut and not too fancy…and they must come with a bit of tongue-in-cheek…just like the boys themselves….
So war es ein verregneter Nachmittag im Dezember als ich mit den Buntstiften meiner Tochter bewaffnet herausfand a) dass, ich noch weiss wie sie funktionieren ;o) b) es doch nicht so schwierig war, für Jungs etwas zu zeichnen, wenn ich nur dabei meinen kleinen Tunichtgut beobachte….der wirklich JEDEN unbeobachteten Moment nutzt, um Schindluder zu treiben und ich eigentlich nur am Hinterherlaufen bin…ein Wunder, dass ich überhaupt etwas geschafft kriege und c) dass, ich, einmal angefangen, vor lauter Ideen nicht mehr aufhören konnte, zu zeichnen….(winkewinke an Jeanette ;o))
So on one rainy day in December, bestowed with my daughters pencil-tin and a latte, I found out that a) I love the way those pencils look together all neatly lined up in a row b) I still know how to use them c) it is very easy to be inspired for a boys-theme when you have a crazy little devil roaming the house on the lookout for mischief and you are constantly running after him cleaning up the mess d) that, once started, I couldn’t stop, asking myself why I hadn’t drawn/painted in such a heck of a long time….
Heraus kam also eine ziemlich umfangreiche Serie für Jungs….Bennibengel und seine teuflisch netten Jungs….oder die “Little Devils” Bande….hier ein kleiner Ausschnitt…
…which is why a quite extensive series of designs evolved….I call them the “Little Devils”….this is a small peak…
